Fall Ministries
PARTNERS
We open up our church four times per year to house, feed, and care for families enrolled in the Families Moving Forward program—an interfaith social service organization that provides emergency shelter to homeless families. As a host church, Plymouth Covenant Church provides overnight shelter in our building and volunteers from our congregation create private sleeping rooms for each family, serve meals, and share fellowship with four families. Our next hosting week is October 15–22, 2017.
Who Can Serve?
Children, teens, adults, families, and small groups are all welcome to serve. Sign up for any of our hosting weeks and make an impact on these precious families moving forward.

Safe Families For Children (SFFC) is a movement of hundreds of families of faith who have opened their homes to care for children whose parents are struggling. We have 11 families who are certified Safe Families. We have another five families who are in the process of getting certified. All certified families have hosted at least once, and two families have taken on long-term placements of children. These families provide support for one another as well as the children who come into their care.
In addition to certified families, we have a resource coordinator, Lauren Niederloh, who makes sure the hosting families have the equipment, toys, PJs, meals, and other things they need. She has a team of volunteers who help in a variety of ways, including stocking our resource closet. If you would like to support the host families, reach out to Lauren or Keith and Kathy Ernst to get a better idea of the group’s current needs.
