This celebratory rite is open to all regular attendees of Plymouth Covenant. You do not have to be a church member, but you must be able to briefly speak about your personal decision to commit your life and will to the care and control of Christ.
Believer baptisms are conducted by our pastoral team during specially scheduled worship services throughout the year. These services can be scheduled as needed, but normally they are conducted on confirmation weekend, Father’s Day, and during Advent.
Plymouth Covenant offers infant baptism for families who want the blessing of God on their child and seek the support of the congregation in raising their child for Jesus. We baptize a child looking forward to the day when the child will personally choose to follow Jesus as their Savior and Lord. This celebratory rite is open to all regular attendees of Plymouth Covenant. You do not have to be a church member. These special services are conducted by our pastoral team during our normal worship services—typically on the third weekend of every month. Normally, we perform only one infant baptism or dedication at a service.
Call the church office at 763-559-4300 to schedule an infant baptism. A pastor will follow up on your request and meet with your family to discuss and plan this important ceremony.
A typical infant baptism service includes the following:
- An address to the parents
- Reading Deuteronomy 6
- Parents sharing the child’s “life verse”
- A charge to the parents, sponsors, and congregation
- The baptism, prayer, and presentation
- Singing “Jesus Loves Me” as a congregation
Call the church office at 763-559-4300 during normal business hours—Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.—to schedule an infant baptism or inquire about a believer’s baptism.
