At Plymouth Covenant Church we value living on mission with Jesus. This means that we love our community and look for opportunities to put that love to action. On Sunday, June 1st we will cancel our normal services and mobilize our congregation to make a big impact in our community and beyond.

Participating in Serve Day is for everyone and registration is easy!

STEP 1

Look through this list of projects and pray about which one God wants you to serve in. There is such a wide variety of projects and place for everyone from ages 1 to 100. Serve as a group or sign up and make some new friends.

PRoject List

  • Cleaning the yard, window washing, inside cleaning and light prepping of bags/tags. 

    12 volunteers, ages 14+

  • Spring yard clean up and painting at a local international church. Exterior wall painting, yard work and tree removal.

    Ages 12+

  • Cleaning the shoreline. Walk the path on the shoreline or access via waders and kayaks. Pick up trash and debris along the lakeshore.

  • Bring your Kayak! Cleaning the shoreline.  Walk the beach or use waders or Kayaks to pick up trash and debris along lakeshore and in the park.

  • Pick up trash and pull weeds at the fire department.

  • Remove trash and garlic mustard on the trails around the park.

  • Spring Cleaning for their indoor spaces.

  • Serving a pancake breakfast and visiting with the residents of this recovery and prison reentry program.

  • Down Syndrome Achievement Center (St. Louis Park) - Prep goody bags, notes and flower arrangements for their annual picnic.

  • Painting two interior rooms for residents of the shelter.

  • Simple landscaping and planting of garden beds.

  • Helping senior citizens stay independently living in their homes by caring for their yards and helping with raking, weeding, spreading mulch, sweeping, etc. (Homes w/in 20 minutes from PCC)

  • Sorting and processing donations to their Resale store. 

    30 volunteers, age 10+

  • Food Shelf Kit Packing. Go to Interfaith to pack a variety of packs to be distributed at the food shelf.

  • Help clean and organize our local food shelf.

  • Help sort through cords and other tech equipment, sort, organize and label it.

    2 volunteers, Ages 16+

  • Landscaping, Rock Painting and Bike repair - Building relationships in our community by providing landscaping and bike repair for kids. We will also have a fun rock painting project for kids!

  • Accomplish outdoor projects in the Moore Lake area of the campus including removing roofing material and yard work. Riding the bus to Lakeside Academy & return by Noon.

  • Riding the bus to LA and returning by noon. Serve pancake breakfast for the boys living at LA and our PCC volunteers. Kitchen cleanup.

  • Carpooling to our church partner for clean-up in the community garden and around the school yard/worship area.

  • Enjoy craft time alongside the residents at Okalee. We will hang bird houses, pot plants and do some gardening.

  • Spring cleanup, bike repair and community engagement including picking up trash and weeds and hosting a family event for the residents with a BBQ and Bounce Houses.

  • Planting flowers and miscellaneous landscaping projects.

  • Serving a pancake breakfast and visiting with the residents.

  • Packing snack bags for people coming to their food shelf as well as light cleaning and a tour of the facility.

  • Take the bus to RockBridge to help with landscaping needs.

  • Support one of PCC's local mission partners by assembling Essential Family Packs (At PCC) and then delivering them to families served through TFG.

  • Pack snacks and invitations that will be distributed to several of our community partners, including 3000 Acts of Kindness.

  • Encourage and support a local international church by helping with Indoor cleaning and shed assembly.

But loving our community can’t be contained to a few hours once a year. In 2025 we are launching PCC Serves. This is our initiative to level up Serve Day and take the momentum and impact of Serve Day to the rest of the year. After Serve Day you will get more information about how you can do a follow up project with the organization you served at for Serve Day!
